Home Décor

I really am into modern design. Here is one of my fav stores for home design and indoors decor. It is Calypso St. Bart. The new Core Collection is brilliant.
They really have some great, global pieces, and even if they are over-priced, you can at least imagine new candles on your table top or new pillow on your sofa. And they have some lovely side tables and cool accessories.
You can transform your home into an exotic sanctuary.

Here is the direct link to the web page (just click explore beneath the Core Collection and on the side there are links to different decore sections):

Summer in a Shell

Summer is here! Yeeey! For my favorite season of the year, here is my fav old-Slovenian movie- 'Summer in a Shell' or 'Poletje v Školjki' . I watch it every summer at least five times. This movie was directed by Sovenian director Tugo Štiglic. And there are two parts. The first one was shoot in Portoroz and Piran (two small cities at Slovenian seaside) and the second one was shoot in the capital, Ljubljana. I have to say that i like the first one more. I really like both main characters, David Sluga as Tomaž and Kaja Štiglic as Milena.
So, if you want to take a peek on how was life in eighties in Slovenia or you're just in nostalgic mood, watch this one, you won't regret it.
Here is the soundtrack, which always makes me happy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekUTcLKsqGg&feature=related

Top 5 hair products

My favorite hair product right now is defenetely All in one hair treatment by Uniq One. It is sold exclusively in hairdressing salons and it gives your hair 10 effects. It repairs dry, damaged hair; gives you hair shine and frizz control; it protects your hair from heat; gives them silkness and smoothness; it contains UVA and UVB filters; after using it, brushing and ironing is easier; your hairstyle lasts longer... It is just a perfect hair product, especially for summer. Oh, and the smell of it is divine!
My second favorite product is dry shampoo by Syoss, which i bought yesterday, and i am very pleased with it. It is a anti-grease brush-out dry shampoo and it gives your hair one extra day freshness and anti-grease effect.
Numer three is conditioner from La Biostgetique. It is care milk for silky soft hair.
Fourth product is herbal hairspray from Rausch. It gives every hairstyle flexible, long-lasting hold and special shine and it contains the unique herbal protectin system with its pure, natural, special extracts of sunflower, sea buckthorn, wheat germ and wheat bran.
Last but not least is volumizer by Lisap fashion Milano which is also sold exclusively in hairdressing salons. And it gives your hair maximum volume and shine.

5 ways how to say no politely

We all have at least this one 'freind' that we want to avoid. Even though we clearly show them that we do not wat to hang out with them, they just do not get it. But still we want to say NO to lounch or cinema with them without offending them. Here is how to deal with the situation politely and easily.

  1. "I'm sorry. I'm swamped with homework and i have to study for my math test."
  2. ''I'm sorry. I have to help my mother with preperations for her outdoors party she's thowing this weekend.''
  3. ''I'm sorry. I have to go to my grandpa's house this weekend.''
  4. ''I'm sorry. I feel really dizzy and i think i'll be sick, it may be food poisoning.''
  5. ''I'm sorry. I promised my parents that we'll to the seaside together this weekend.''
They'll hopefully understand.

Omber hair vs. highlights

Summer is coming and i have been thinking to change my hairstyle for a long time. Now i am somewhere between ombre hair and natural highlights. Both may seem really similar , but for me, changing my hair is a big deal.
But i think that ombre is really fashionable, modern and just the perfect summer hairstyle. However, when summer ends and in one year time it probaby won't be in anymore. But, for me, is it not about what is in and what is out. Is more like how you wear it and how it suits you.
And highlights are more casual, still nothing unusual, but also a great hairstyle for summer, because if your hairstylist does them right, it may look like you have natural sandy highlights from sunlight.
Here are some inspirations:

Summer snacks

Here are my recepies for the best summer snacks. They are all healthy, easy and quick to make and of course, delicious. Especially good to make if you don't have much time, but you want to serve something healthy and good looking  to your guests. And they are very suitable for summer time, because they are refreshing and light.
Bon appetit!

  • cranberry-tuna salad is very easy to make and it's really good!     All you need is green salad, dried cranberries, a can of tuna, soft goat cheese, balsamic vinegar, pumpkin oil, salt and pepper- mix all this in a really nice bowl and enjoy your meal.
  • salmon-avocado sandwich is just right for summer brunch.     You need just a little of butter, salmon spread ( the one with pieces of salmon, which is orange color; not the white one, which is mixed with cream cheese!) or thin slice of smoked salmon, avocado, soft goat cheese, lettuce leaf, half lemon juice, thin slice of tomato and salt- put all this on a slice of mixed seeded bread or on toast.
  • fruit smoothie with soy milk is yummy and fast to make!   You need frozen cherries without pits, frozen raspberries, banana, soy milk, (and i usually add some of the Herbalife vanilla powder, i am also planning to write post about Herbalife very soon).
I hope you like the recepies or i whould say more, ideas for summer snacks! I will post some more recepies soon.

Summer sports

Since the summer is coming and we all want to look super fit, i have made My Top 3 pre-summer selection.

This holidays i have been very interested in beach volley, and since i didn't know how to play it, i asked my friend to show me the  touches and explain me the rules. For the last two weeks we are playing volleyball in the school gym and i am doing really well, i think that i have improved it and the most important is that i really enjoy it and have lots of fun playing it. I figured that i shouldn't be afraid of the ball and just relax and enjoy the game. So this year volley is definitely my no.1 summer sport!

I am also very excited about running this season. I think is good for health and is free; because i think is stupid to go to the gym and run on a track in a sunny weather. Rather than this, go to the nearest forest or if you are at the seaside, you can run on the beach, it's even better, in summer time, early in the morning. For motivation buy yourself a nice top. Neon colors are in this season!

I couldn't really decide about no.3; it's eather tennis or badminton, those are both my one of my favorite sports. But i think that badminton is more suitable for summer, beacuse it's more relaxed, you can play it on the beach, grass, at the picnics, in the park...

Prabal Gurung

One of my favorite designers is definitely Prabal Gurung, who is a brilliant, young designer born in Singapore and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. It was in New Delhi, India that his design career truly began. While studying at New Delhi's National Institute of Fashion Technology, he apprenticed at several local production and fashion houses and designed with Manish Arora. Gurung's travels took him to Melbourne and London, where he assisted stylists for various fashion shows and international publications. In 1999, after seven years of traveling, Gurung moved to New York City. He began his career in New York interning for Donna Karan while attending Parsons School of Design. In his first year, he was awarded the "Best Designer" title at the annual Parsons / FIT design competition.
After Parsons, Gurung spent two years with Cynthia Rowley's design team, which allowed him to gain even more invaluable experience on both the design and business end of New York's highly competitive fashion scene. Soon after, he became the design director at Bill Blass. After five successful years, Gurung left his post at Blass to launch his own collection, PRABAL GURUNG.
Since the launch of his collection, Gurung has dressed leading ladies including Michelle Obama, Demi Moore, Zoe Saldana and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few. In 2010 he was the recipient of the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund Award and received a nomination for the 2010 CFDA Swarovski Womenswear Award. He was chosen by the fashion industry's leading editors, retailers, designers and business experts for one of the highly coveted design studios at the {CFDA Fashion Incubator} for 2010-2012. In November 2010, Gurung was selected as runner-up for the 2010 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund. In 2011 Gurung was honored as one of USA Network's twelve Character Approved Award recipients.
Gurung presently resides in New York City.
